About Line Dance with ME
I am a fully qualified line dance instructor through Best Western Dance Academy (BWDA); complimented by my degrees in teacher training (Cert Ed) and Management Studies. I have an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) formally CRB check.
I have attended national line dance workshops and regularly collaborate with other line dance instructors to learn new dances and styles.
I joined a line dance class in 2009 and enjoyed it so much I couldn’t wait to run my own classes. I started teaching line dancing in July 2015, including modern and country and western. I run four dance classes per week from absolute beginners to intermediate level, two monthly socials, several workshops, charity events and private events all south side of Bath.
My most popular dances I have choreographed are BRAVE, HERE WITH ME and I AM GiANT. I started to choreograph dances for my dancers when I couldn’t find dances to suit their needs and to enable them to learn certain steps.
I have been previously been fully committed to positively working hard to raise funds for two Bath based charities by hosting two popular afternoon dances. All of the proceeds were split between both charities: Dorothy House and RICE ‘Dementia Plus’ raising £1,005.39 in 2016 and £1,099.51 in 2018. This has helped towards providing local individuals and families in need with assistance and critical services.
I run fun line dancing classes with a modern approach on a classic dance. The steps are all set to modern or country music which makes this classic style ready for any generation.
You can start as a beginner and the more you attend the more skills you will develop and the more you can progress. Some of the steps come in groups, each with its own name which I will go over with you slowly. Once you have a grasp of the basic moves, learning new dances will become easier. Nobody will mind going over it a few more times (there are probably others in the room also glad to have more practice before moving on).
The great thing about line dancing is that anybody can do it and it’s a great way to get fit, plus you don't need a partner (although you can always bring one), it's great for going out and meeting people.
The dances are informal, social and lively without the pressure of performance in front of an audience. From the first week beginners will be able to immerse themselves fully into the routines and enjoy dancing to a whole range of music genres.
Routines are easy to learn and I can guarantee you will be dancing within 5 minutes of starting to learn your first dance.
Join me with a group of friends in one of my regular classes or book private lessons. I am always happy to welcome new members to the group.
Drop in and see me– I would love to meet you!
